PROJECT MANAGER – MECHANICAL BIAS
Contract – Inside IR35
Location: Capenhurst, near Chester
Rate: £55-65/hour (Umbrella)
Mechanical Partners are recruiting on behalf of our client, a long-standing and trusted supplier to the nuclear industry. They are seeking a Project Manager with a strong mechanical engineering background to support capital project delivery at their Capenhurst site.
This contract role offers the opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of strategically significant mechanical projects. You’ll be responsible for managing medium to large-scale projects, guiding junior team members, and ensuring alignment with business objectives across safety, scope, cost, and schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of mechanical projects to meet safety, cost, schedule, and business benefit targets.
- Translate project requirements and critical success factors into tailored delivery strategies.
- Develop project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to junior project managers.
- Manage complex contractual relationships, including suppliers of free-issue materials, technology, or IP.
- Engage with stakeholders to communicate strategy and ensure alignment with broader business goals.
What You’ll Bring:
- Degree qualified (BEng or MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong technical background in mechanical systems and engineering.
- Project Management accreditation (e.g. APM, PMI).
- Proven experience in managing EPC contractors and construction supply chains.
- Ability to influence supplier relationships and drive performance.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to pass Security Clearance.
- Medical, drug, and alcohol screening will be required.
