Salary: £33,163 + 20% shift allowance (rising to £34,308 + 20% after probation)

Join the Tooling Department maintaining the machinery that drives steel production across the UK. This hands-on, physically demanding role directly supports production reliability and quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Strip, inspect, and rebuild roll stands to high standards.
• Use technical drawings to fit and replace bearings and gears.
• Operate induction heaters and presses.
• Support other teams with equipment movement and maintenance.
• Work a 4-week rotating day-shift pattern (including 3 weekends in 4)

Requirements

• Time-served apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience with mechanical fitting (bearings and gears).
• Valid driving licence and awareness of COSHH.
• Strong focus on teamwork and safety.

(Desirable: Forklift and overhead crane experience.)
