About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of engineering projects across our terminal and, on an ad-hoc basis, our terminal in South Wales. Travel to South Wales will be minimal (a few times per year) and all expenses will be covered.

The role involves managing Sustaining Maintenance & Reliability projects (typically £20k-£1M) and Growth CAPEX projects (value subject to customer requirements). You will be responsible for delivering projects from cradle to grave, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, each at different stages and of varying complexity and value (£50k-£400k, occasionally up to £1M).
  • Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
  • Oversee procurement processes and contractor management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards in high-hazard environments.
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder communication throughout project lifecycle.

Typical Projects Include:

  • Tank inspection and repair
  • Secondary containment and civil upgrades
  • Fire system upgrades
  • EC&I (Electrical, Control & Instrumentation) upgrades
  • Piping inspections and pipework upgrades
  • Jetty and marine infrastructure improvements

Experience with tank turnaround and tank farm operations is highly advantageous.

Candidate Profile

  • Engineering background with strong technical understanding.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in project management within brownfield, high-hazard industries.
  • Familiarity with hazardous areas and flammable atmospheres.
  • Proven ability to manage projects end-to-end, including design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Self-sufficient and comfortable managing multiple projects concurrently.

Benefits:

    • Competitive Salary (Negotiable)
    • Employer pension contribution of 9% (employee minimum contribution of 5%).
    • 25 days annual leave, rising to 30 days with service.
    • Life assurance of 4 times basic salary.
    • Healthcare scheme.
    • Access to pre-employment and regular health checks with occupational health practitioners.
