Get Stuck In and Drive Real Environmental Change

Are you passionate about the environment and looking for a role where you can make a genuine difference on the ground – not just from behind a desk?

Our client, a major player in the industrial manufacturing sector, is looking for an Environmental Engineer to join their Hartlepool site and become a key figure in driving environmental performance forward. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that’s not just meeting compliance requirements but setting new standards for sustainability and environmental care.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on, site-based role where you’ll be out and about – making things happen, building relationships, and being the trusted voice on all things environmental.

You’ll be:

  • Supporting the business in meeting legal and permit requirements

  • Monitoring and reporting on key areas such as air quality, emissions, water, and waste

  • Conducting site audits and ensuring timely follow-ups

  • Collaborating with the Environment Agency and internal stakeholders

  • Contributing to risk assessments and supporting incident investigations

  • Playing a key role in environmental improvement projects across the site

You’ll work as part of a close-knit environmental team, but you’ll interact with people from all levels and departments – from operators to senior managers.

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who’s proactive, organised, and ready to make an impact. If you’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved, this could be the ideal next step for you.

You’ll need:

  • A degree in a STEM subject

  • A strong understanding of UK environmental regulations

  • A practical, structured approach to your work

  • The confidence to work independently and influence others

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships

Experience with ISO 14001, the Environmental Permitting Regulations (EPR), or working with the Environment Agency would be a bonus – but don’t worry if not, our client is committed to supporting your development in these areas.

If you’re ready to make your mark as an Environmental Engineer and want to be part of a team that’s driving real change, we’d love to hear from you.
