Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with a minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical design, particularly within the defence, aerospace, or space sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge actuator technologies, contributing to the design, development, and optimisation of high-performance systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the mechanical design and development of actuators and related components.
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Conduct structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineers.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical guidance.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation activities.
- Identify and implement improvements to enhance product reliability and manufacturability.
Key Requirements:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five years’ experience in mechanical design, preferably in defence, aerospace, or space applications.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX).
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for structural and thermal simulations.
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards (such as MIL-STD, AS9100, ECSS, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative team environment.
